Paudge Mulvihill

PaudgeMulvihillBorn in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon in 1957 I had a traditional catholic upbringing in a loving and caring home. In my early teens I abandoned faith and declared myself to be an atheist, more out of a desire to be different than from any deep well thought out reasons.

Thankfully in 1979 I was converted to New Testament Christianity and have experienced His wonderful love and care each day since. I am married to a lovely lady Emer, and we have two grown up children and one beautiful granddaughter.

I have been involved in Christian work since 1982 working together with some marvellous people seeing a number of churches established in Co. Mayo and looking to see further church establishment here in Mayo and beyond. I am currently pastor at Calvary Church Westport.

Calvary Mission

Calvary Mission is a network of Christians working together to establish Bible-centred churches in Ireland. We are currently active in the counties of Mayo, Galway, and Roscommon. By God’s grace, we hope to initiate two further church plants in 2018, in Longford town and Boyle Co. Roscommon. Many of the churches are quite small, but our eyes are very much on the Lord to see each church grow and become established. Your prayers are a vital necessity.

Our purpose is the planting of church-planting churches through Evangelism, Discipleship and Leadership Training

There are 16 couples and four singles working with the Mission across seven towns. Three of these couples are presently serving internships with the Mission, and it is hoped that they will eventually move on to church plant. There are over 70 towns of a population of above 5000 without an evangelical church. The present age evangelical across the country is as low as 0.47%, which is the lowest percentage evangelical in the English speaking world.

We are fully committed to the fact that each and everything we hold dear needs to be grounded in the Word of God, the Bible. We have an excellent Statement of Faith together with a Statement on the Five Solas of the Reformation. These can be viewed on our website: www.calvarymission.ie.

Building Project

We are presently engaged in a building project in Westport. When completed it will be the first purpose-built Evangelical Church building in the West of Ireland for quite some time. We recently began phase two. It is a miracle of God grace that we have gotten so far. We have seen some incredible answers to prayer in bringing us this far. We are profoundly thankful to OMS for their very kind help with this project and to the Teams of men, led by Norman McMullan, who have come to give of their time and skills to see the project go forward.
