Recently I was travelling through Dunmanway in Co Cork. The following verse of Scripture was displayed on the end wall of one of the houses in the town as you travel through the main street:
Such displays are affectionately known as Wayside Pulpits. It was my prayer that as people read this verse of scripture which was so visible and well displayed that many who may read it would indeed repent of their sins and put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Just last summer my wife and I took a holiday in Scotland. On one of the days we visited St Andrews which is a University City. Again this verse was displayed very visibly on the main thoroughfare for students in English and then in many other translations around a world map:
In the March 2017 monthly prayer sheet of One Mission Society they concluded by giving the following seven incredible truths about God’s love from John 3v16:
SEVEN INCREDIBLE TRUTHS ABOUT GOD’S LOVE:
- Extravagant: (so Loved)
- Extensive: (for God so loved the world)
- Expensive: (gave His only begotten Son)
- Expansive: (whosoever might be saved)
- Exclusive: (whosoever believes)
- Exceptional: (will not perish)
- Eternal: (have everlasting life)
I trust this verse will encourage you as a believer. If you have not as yet put your faith and trust in Christ alone for Salvation that you will consider this verse carefully and then accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour by repenting of your sins and putting your faith and trust in Him.
